21" Commercial HONDA. Haven't had any problems with ours. It's in the 3rd year.

I use a commercial snapper that just won't die. If I were in the market for one today, I would give serious consideration to Honda, Toro Proline, of Exmark Metro 21 (same as a Toro Proline for about $75 cheaper).

For 21inch, I started with a used commerical snapper, and a walmart murray with a little tecumesch motor on it. The snapper wasn't the greatest, it was heavy, hard to start, and well it was used/abused. The murray deck didn't last as long as the motor, it was light and easy to tote around, was great for drainage ditches since I didn't have much invested in it. I had an opportunity to run my brother in-laws toro gts200 and I was greatly impressed. It was quiet, easy starting, and made great cuts. I almost bought one until I was introduced to Honda and I've never regretted it, but the sticker price is still haunting me. Cha-ching!!! It's only two years old and still starts easily and cuts great. I would definetely get another if need-be.

The best 21" is a Lawnboy com.
Lightest, & only one with a designated side discharge.

I agree with Zach

Lawnboy Silver Series is the best "bang for the buck" 21" mower out there. Cheap to buy, cheap to operate, cheap to maintain, nearly zero maintainence, good cut, easy to start and very light weight.

I buy the basic model. No high wheels or self propelled, just a basic silver series. Buy for $275, run for a year and a half or two years, sell to a homeowner for $75 and get a new one. If you keep them too long, things like wheels, pull cords and other misc. crap will start to go wrong. I think a purchase price of $100 per year is pretty cheap, especially when you are getting a new machine every other year.

I have found that putting a honda engine on a snapper is a great combination. Works better than any engine that snapper comes with.

I think my Shindawia T-27 will whip any Honda or Lawn-boy.
Even in the ditches. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Yea Bryan, you say that because you own it. I own the lawn-boy and it would be easy for me to say mine would whip any other brand out there. I really don't think that anyone can say that their one brand they own is better than most others because quite frankly with this type of mower there is not a whole lot of variation in how they cut. For instance, someone just referred to their murray they bought at wal-mart and said it cut well just like their other commercial mower. These mowers will get less wear and tear than riding commercials so i think most will get the job done well enough. I had a Toro for 10 years and it cut just as well in the tenth year as it did when I first got it. I will not say it will whip another brand because I have not tried the numerous other brands and quite frankly don't think it really matters to the overall quality of my work compared to all of the other equipment I use. Not trying to jump your case but i just see it all the time especially when talking to people about our 4-wheelers. Everyone thinks theirs is the best.

Toro makes the best mulcher, love em, got 4. They mulch good even when wet. They mulch better the faster they go for some reason.

Snapper makes the best bagger, love em for bagging, got 2.

Snapper is a heavy unit and I feel like the drive mechanism is not up to par and I have had some small problems with the heavier unit. We have 2. The best commercial unit is very heavy but nice. It has a Robin engine and cost about $950.

The one that has lasted the longest with the least number of problems (no problems) was the Snapper commercial with the 5hp KAWASAKI engine. It is the lighter Commercial Snapper. Cost about $525. Great machine, gets worked good and for many years.

Don't like Snappers. The chute seems to get clogged too easily.

Hondas are my choice.
