honda gx series engine issue

just picked up a classen aerator for an incredible deal, and its in great shape, but.... the engine seems to die out when not on choke. its got a honda gx on it, which i know is known for being an engine with long life, and it was maintained pretty well, so i know the motor shouldn't be an issue, but can't figure out why it wont stay running. i have next to no personal experience with honda engine issues, so i thought i'd ask you boys for your thoughts b4 i dumped it at my mechanics shop to get buried til march behind a wall of snow blowers lol

any thoughts are appreciated.

If it has been sitting any amount of time the problem may the carb. May need a clean out.
