First Time Sodding

Hey guys, I am brand new to this site and I wanted to know if I can get some responses about sodding. I have a toatal of 988 sq ft. Should I lay a 2" layer of topsoil? Also what is the going price for installtion for sod.

Welcome jusblaze! We need more information regarding why you think you may need 2" of topsoil???? Unless the existing soil condition is real crappy you should just loosen the existing soil.

Laying 988 SF of sod comes out to be about 110 SY. (Generally you buy sod by the sq yd.) Don't forget to add 10-15% extra for all the cutting you'll do (w/ 10-15% 120-127 SY). I really can't give you an estimate on labor since I do not know how many obstacles you have to work around or the prep work that is needed. Perhaps you could provide some more details......
