  • Backflow Preventer

Homeowner here. Not a professional. Trying to pick a blackflow preventer to replace one that's worn out (10 years). In the lower price range, I found:

Conbraco 4A-505-A2F 1 in. Freeze Resistant PVB Backflow Preventer,
Watts 800M4QT 1 in. PVB Backflow Preventer,
Wilkins 720A 1 in. PVB Backflow Preventer.

What, if anything, is the difference among these? Is one a better quality than another? Which would you choose, and why?
    Thanks in advance, Jerry.

PVB Backflow devices are all pretty much the same. Some guys like Ford and some Chevy. We buy 100's every year and usually go with the one that our supplier is running a deal on. Also, what do you mean by worn out? The internal pieces on all of these are replaceable.

Last year, the PVB barely passed inspection, and its been discontinued by the mfg. I was told that it needed to be replaced this year.
