I know I'll get hammered on the door to door part from you guys who do it, but I don't see this as a good advertising method for professional reasons; this is how most scam artists, con men, and Gypsies work.

If you do do the door to door method, be sure to observe local ordinance regarding door to door sales; no soliciting signs; litter laws; postal mailboxes are a big no-no; cranky people; and beware of dog or Smith and Wesson signs.

ive been wondering this...what exactly defines "solicitation?" is it only when there is a face to face meeting or direct phone calls? in other words...mailings and hangers are not solicitation right?

I think I missed the best chance I ever had to get free TV advertising today... Was at my last stop packing my gear up, and an SUV pulls up behind me with a woman leaning out the window trying to get my attention... Oh great I thought... Another "can you do my lawn right now." type of deal... When I turn I recognize she's a reporter from the local TV news.

We have a freeze right now from the front that just went through, and she said she wanted to interview me about what it was like working in the cold all day.

Ummm... I just did 10 apartment complexes today, I could smell myself by then so I knew I was getting ripe, I was so dusty from blowing parking areas all day that I looked like I crawled out of a coal mine, and I was sniffling from being outside all day... I told her no thanks... I didn't want to be the dirty redneck you see on the news with a ball of snot running down my nose trying to explain how you just gotta get through days like this. You know the guy... The one they always manage to find after a fire burns down a trailer park. Not gonna be me. LOL

I also new she was just trying to take an easy out... They sent her out to get interviews, and the TV station is 2 blocks down from where I was working, so she probably thought she hit the jackpot, and was gonna have it easy today.

is also related to the guy they put on tv that saw the flying saucer. "Gollee, ah seen it rat over them trees. (spit) It looked jes lak uh skillet, itdid. Dernedest thang ah ever saw!!"
