    When are the best times to apply ice melt and why? Am not familiar with how it works and need to get best results. We've looked on the web with no luck. We live in NC so it's not needed very often. Thanks!

    You put ice melt down when there is ice you want gone. If there is a big build up you will still have to scrape some off. If you are doing it for customers make sure you don't screw up and use the wrong type. Never use salt on sidewalks. Avalanche works down to -22 degrees and costs around $13.00 per bag. safe on older concrete sidewalks (one year or older). As with any chemical, there are alot to chose from. Make sure you ask questions before you buy something. You can do alot of damage to alot of different things.
