So do you? If so do you have a limit or are you willing to match the lowest guy just to get the job?

Do you match competitors prices?

It all depends on the job and price. Mowing, it's my price period. I don't touch a yard for less than $35. That's my minimum, don't care if it's a front yard only. Landscaping, mulch, tree trimming or removal, I might match the price depending on my workload, profit, customers attitude, and/or other factors. I won't match the lowest guys price if it's somebody I never heard of. Chances are he is new to the game and doesn't know what he's doing. I'll ask the homeowner, esp if it's a tree job "do you know if he has insurance." Usual response is "no I don't". I whip out my deck page and show him that he is covered just in case something goes wrong. 9 times out of 10 I get the job right then and there with out giving up any profit. But to lowball to get a job, ain't no way in hell. I'm waaaaay past that stage.
