Yes, drip irrigation is best for water conservation. The reason is because you avoid as much evaporation as possible (if any at all), and the low precipitation rate allows for zero runoff. Sure, you could be very careful watering by hand and achieve the same results, but you're talking manual labor...:alien::alien::alien:
