About the Company:
Seeds for Success is a for-profit, benefits corporation which seeks to serve students from the Maya Angelou High School and Young Adult Learning Center, along with their families and communities by:
- Engaging and empowering them to reach their full potential, to become successful entrepreneurs, workforce members, community and business leaders.
- Increasing their access to jobs and viable income-generating opportunities.
- Providing them with work readiness training and employable skills.
- Bridging the gap between education and employment in a safe, known and motivating environment.
To accomplish this, we offer landscaping, snow and ice management and junk removal services to commercial and residential clients. We teach students the skills necessary to work for and run a business and create business leaders and entrepreneurs through hands on experiential training. We offer a different approach than the traditional one of responding to young people in a risk or problem frame and shift toward proactively building skills, fostering healthy relationships, and supporting youth to be active partners in their development efforts. We provide them with the knowledge,skills, and support they need so they can thrive as adults, enjoy good health, succeed economically, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
About the Job:
Applicants for the Crew Chief position should possess tireless work ethic, commitment, zeal for training and mentoring young adults (creating future leaders), and an entrepreneurial mindset. This is a rare opportunity to build a business, grow with it from the ground floor, and make a significant impact in the lives of young people.
Applicants should possess experience and knowledge of lawn mowing and maintenance equipment and practices and the desire and ability to pass on knowledge and how-to to novices. Further skills and traits we are looking for include, initiative taker, creativity, a great sense of humor, leads by example, punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and salesmanship.
The Crew Chief position requires a detail and service oriented individual who can effectively communicate and develop professional relationships with repeat commercial and residential customers. You will lead a 1 to 3 person crew performing landscape maintenance and help to build/create new business during non-peak times.
Full time.
Compensation will be based upon experience.
