Hey everyone...I am wondering about the logistics behind Residental Snow Blowing...........
I am thinking that I will offer it to my regular weekly maintenance customers (I am starting new business in Spring so I am looking forward to next Winter......)
Anyway, some thoughts and questions: Rememebr these are related to residental customers........
1) How do you set someone up for snow removal? For example, do you have an agreement with them before the winter hits to snow blow their driveway whenever it snows...or do you just have them call. It seems to me you would need to have them on a route ahead of time.
2) Do you set a base price and then have a multiplier for deeper snow....
Example: 1"-6" of SNow is $25.00
6" - 12" of Snow is 1.5 times base = $37.50
Etc..
I am just thinking if you get a 24 hour snow storm you will have to Snow Blow several times.....
3) If you show up at their house and their cars are in driveway........just snow blow around them I assume?
4) Snow blowers do not move all snow.......there is a small amount that is still on driveway. Do you shovel that or simply put down salt????
5) Can you give me some typical pricing schem,es for different square footage driveways / sidewalks?
I will end up doing some tests with my snow blower to see how long it takes to do "x" amount of driveway and then multiply be my hourly rate.....but, I am just curious as to how much you can charge.
Thanks ALL!
Mike
