Default Homeowner equip - 4x4 vs tractor w/ blade

I have a 400-foot driveway to plow in northern Indiana. I'm thinking about a 7-ft grader blade on the back of a 45-hp tractor. But I'm being told that won't move snow NEARLY as well as a 4x4 with a front-mounted plow.

Is that true? That I'll be sorry if I get the tractor & blade?
