Woods 5140 hydrostat problem
Just wondering if anybody out there might be able to diagnose what is wrong with my ol' mower. It's a Woods 5140 mower that we've had for a couple of years and allthough it's and old machine (late 80's) it still runs & works really well.
Lately, the left side hydrostatic drive has started to overheat and things get really sluggish after about 20 minutes or so. My local delarship has helped me out with some suggestions but I belive they are really looking fwd to selling me a new unit for about $900. I'm not quite to that point just yet. We've had the unit all the way apart but I really don't know what too look for, and there was nothing obviously wrong. All the internal parts looked pretty good.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
