After several weeks of searching the net and shopping locally, I decided I wanted a Ferris 1500 but they are pretty pricey for me. Today I was offered an excelent price on a 2148. They discounted the machine an additional $400 since it had been sitting outdoors and all the cad plated control rods have corroded. The dealer said that it apparently had been exposed to road salt in transit to him. He had previously had a similar unit and had removed the corrosion with some sort of penetrating oil and scotchbrite. My question is twofold. Any further suggestions on removing the corrosion and was the $400 a reasonable discount for the corrosion? Thanks for the help.
