  • Bluebird lawn comber

I have a Bluebird lawn comber that I bought used and the motor has become unreliable even after a few repairs. I was thinking about getting a new motor for it but the replacement motor (Briggs) I priced at $375. So I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend the money.

I then found a place that will be having two used Bluebird lawn combers for sale for $399 each. One has a bag and one doesn’t. So I was thinking about getting one of them. I was starting to think about getting the one with the bag to save on clean up but the bag needs to be emptied out of the same hole that the grass gets blown into. So it looks like it might be hard to empty. It’s one of the older models so it doesn’t switch from bagging to non-bagging.

What are your experiences with the Bluebird lawn comber with the bag? Are they better with or without the bag? Currently I have I’ve been cleaning up the grass by blowing the yard with a Redmax 8000 back pack blower which is the best way with the equipment I have.
