This is my first year in the game. I currently have 30 residentials and 4 commercials. All my contracts were done verbally. I would like to put in a bid for a "O'rielly auto parts" its brand new and have been hyroseeded about 3 weeks ago. The manager said I can put in a bid but i cant cut until feb. I figured it would take me 2 hours by myself and it appears to be a pretty easy cut. Normally i would charge about 70 a cut. They want a 12 month service even though i will only cut it about 8 or 9 months a year. There is no landscape and they dont want any parking lot cleanup. I dont know how to write the bid. the manager knows that sometimes in the spring I will have to mowe twice a week cause they hydro seeded. So they have no problem with paying me in the winter for doin nothing. Please i need help!

I would try to base my bid off of the time that would be required on a weekly basis. I would include a weekly "policeing" for trash and such. You can break the total cost down by month and it will be a consistant amount you can bank on. If they just hydroseeded you may not need to cut until feb. I don't know where you are in AR, so I can't really guestimate your mowing season.

Originally posted by LawnsharkIt should be about 2 hours a work per week. So i figured 70 a cut. So would u bill @ 70x5=350 a month for 12 months @ 4200a year? Or should i bill them according to how many weeks per month? IM sorry im just trying to learn. thanks for any help.
gee 5 weeks a month would give us 60wks a year try like $70 times 52 equals $3,640 divided by 12 equals $303.33 mo
didnt someone say awhile back that mowing was 7cents a foot for commercial. dont lowball yourself man that u screw yourself in the end
