Advertising in The Bag (Columbus, OH) / Flyer Distributors

Has anyone utilized The Bag for advertising in the Columbus, Ohio area. If so did you have any success? Also, does anyone in the Columbus area know of a good company that distributes flyers at a reasonable cost. Thanks for your help.

Find a few teenagers in your neighborhood. Maybe a couple of kids you know would work best. Take them to a neighborhood that you want to put flyers in, and have them help you distribute them. This way you can make sure they are doing what you are paying them to do. You can cover alot of ground very quickly this way.

Try SNP for your flyers. As far as The Bag,, i would suspect the results to be slightly lees than simply hanging because they have to dig to find it.

Have you thought of your Advertiser paper ? It will also let you target a specific area.

OK, Now I dare someone to tell me what the Bag is or is this a secret that only folks from Ohio know about? Are y'all talking about a bag that hangs on their front door knob that has different advertisements in it or What?????

I think I like the idea of sending out Fliers to a Specific Targeted area via the Newspaper!

Exactly! Thing about it is,, you get carpet cleaners,window installers,envelope labels,, ect...... in the bag. Probally 1/2" thick or so of flyers. I actually go through it every now and than,,,when i am bored enough. But i personally wouldnt promote in it. Im w/ you grassmeister ,,, gotta target em!!!

Thank you for all the responses, I agree Seascape that the Bag may be a little less effective than hanging my own flyer. My biggest concern is the time factor of going through my targeted neighborhoods and hanging them myself, or with some help. (Although we had a tremendous response late last year by putting out only 200 flyers, we picked up $1500 worth of work in one week. ) The SNP is a great idea, possibly combining that along with a postcard mailer will generate some positive results. Thanks again everyone.

It must have been a good flier, why not do this?

Hit them with fliers, different fliers about every 4 to 6 weeks...

Not only do you want them to call you now for work, you want the ones that don't need you now to call you later when they need you...

Hit that neighborhood with fliers one month & the Next do a Direct Mailing with Postcards or something?

And what better way than sending them a Friendly Reminder (Another Flier) about every 4 to 6 weeks!

I hear all the time where people will only put out fliers once a year or twice a year... What if all your businesses did that only once or twice a year. There would be no newspapers?

To be successful you must have an on going, continual Advertising Campaign all the time. Yes certain times of the year you don't advertise as much as other times!

You want them to think of your business name only when they need Lawn Service work done? The only way to accomplish this is Continual Advertising, Shove your Name up their behinds so when they open their mouths your Business name comes out?

Think about this, now these words probably vary location to location?

Mom I want Pizza. OK I call Domino's.

Dad I want a Computer. (It used to be IBM years ago) Now it's Dell or Circuit City.

PooBear we need a TV, OK honey lets go to Circuit City & get a Plasma TV... Years ago it used to be Curtis Mathis, RCA or Zenith.

Notice how I picked certain ones & notice how Circuit City came up? They dominate this area & the others do too, because they have a continual advertising campaign!

You want to get in to a nice neighborhood. Flood it with fliers on a regular basis, do it once a month or every 6 weeks for a year...

If it's only got one Major Entrance, park your truck across the street & let the air out of the tire on the Ditch Side LOL leave it there all day on a Saturday with a note saying you'll fix it & be gone by 6:00PM. JUst do something!

If it's only got one Entrance & a Big nice neighborhood, offer to do it very cheap (enough to cover your cost) don't give it away, if they let you put a small sign on the right hand side right where they stop for the stop sign.

Just make sure they remember your business name no matter what? Find ways to get your name out there on a regular basis. I bet you a Dollar if you asked everybody on one street to name a Vinyl Siding Company. Probably 9 out of 10 of them would name the same company?

Hit it, Go after them, make them remember you!

Certain areas in and around cols. you will get much better than industry standard response. Id continue to hang yourself if you dont go w/ SNP.

I would not waste your time with the BAG. As soon as I get it I put it into trash and seems like others do the same.

I'm not sure how effective this bag thing is, but it must work somewhat. If it didn't, businesses would not continue to use it.
