  • Help with Comm. bid

I was asked to bid on a hotel. There is 51,200 sq. ft of mowing mostley wide open with very minimal obstacles. I figure about 30 min. of trimming and 10 min of blowing. Im thinking of bidding 75.00/cut. There will be 2 guys working on this prop. Any suggestions? Thanks

Is this a top notch job wanted, or more 'get in, get out' type job?

With hotels, I have seen both.

If it's on the nicer side, we would be much higher.

The problem is that it would almost have to be seen. On jobs like that, I measure sq ft, but more times than not, I go by my gut instinct on how high I can bid.

Sounds cut and dry ... are you sure they don't also expect weed controls in the paved areas ? flowers, mulch and etc.

Pretty sure, the manager I spoke with stated he only wanted a bid for mowing. The place could definatly use a clean up, mulch and some shrub trimming. Sounds like they are looking for a cheap price. Hopefully I will be awarded the mowing bid and will try to sell the other services. I was just wondering if my bid was even close to what most of you would have for mowing only. I wish I could bid higher but the area is saturated with mom and pop style companies and a few, well established lco.
