  • High margin impulse ideas?

    Hello! Perhaps someone can direct me to a thread that covers this, but I was wondering about face to face door contact.

    Say I am out with a crew and I have time to knock on a few doors in neighborhoods where I already have an established customer base.

    What high margin items might I offer to "get my foot in the door" with the do-it-yourself homeowner?

    Fertilizer application?
    Clearing beds?
    Edging?

    These are just some ideas I had, do they make any sense?

    How about just being nice and saying something like "I work in your neighborhood regulary and I just wanted to introduce myself...... and leave you a magnetic card incase you ever need to talk to us about anything." ... if they are interested they should bring up some concerns.....if not say thankyou and have a nice day! not being pushy or anything.....i don't buy from folks i don't get a good vibe from.......once when i was a kid i got accused of stealing 1/2 a soda from a lil country store......i don't buy from them to this day and i neva will.......there's always someone selling the same service somewhere else....

      I know what you mean, I won't do business with an establishment that treats me wrong or I get a bad vibe from.

      These would be areas that have already been blanketed by flyers. I guess it wouldn't hurt to approach them anyway and leave a flyer. All they can say is no.

        Hi MowBot,

        Here is an idea. You could create a flyer that allows you to write in a service(s) you feel that specific customer could use by reviewing their property. Maybe you see something that stands out that you could help solve and the new client would be happy you took the time to present it to them?
