  • Getting Commercial Business

I am trying to land one big account from the commercial side of things this year and i am having a tough time. I call a mayor cooperation or business to try and gain there business. The person i am suppose to be talking to is never there and they do not return my phone calls. My question is what is the best way to go about getting commercial accounts. I need atleast one more big one before i could consider making this my full time job year around. Any comments would be appreciated thanks.

I have a large company that I have had for a few years. Every year I send them fliers, call them, stop by to talk to them, and never seem to get anywhere with them until it is time to actually cut the property. They end up calling me just before the cutting season starts and we finalize the contract. The point is don't stop contacting them or give up, it is just that having their grass cut is not a priority on the mind. But when they see the grass starting to grow and green up it will jog their memory and will probably call you.

Before you "interview" or try to promote yourself to commercial ... ask yourself and answer this question ...

What's in it for the commercial customer to hire my company?
