if it were me, i wouldnt advertise bagging. bagging sucks. if people want it, i'll charge more.
also i would put more services on there, unless cutting is all you want to do.

I agree. I do not bag unless it is requested.

Also add more services Mowing, Mulching, Trimming, ETC...
I always put "Other services by Request" at the bottom of my flyer.

Some people will mow, But contract out to Trim there Hedges and mulch.

The more services you offer the business you will get.

I wouldn't put a general price on there because who are you to judge what an average size lawn is. The general public loves to take advertised prices and throw them in your face. It happened to me in my first season. Leave it blank and give a quote on the spot and stick the flier in the door much more effective then they don't even have to have you come out for an estimate they just need to tell you yes come mow my lawn.

i designed my fliers with an optional estimate block. says somethin like, " price to cut your lawn per wk is $ ___ , or call "blade2blade" for your free estimate. that way if i want to leave estimate i can. if not, i can leave it blank because it has my contact name & #.

Thanks Blade2Blade for that, that's exactly what my door hangers say. Some lawns aren't an easy estimate particularly larger lawns. On these most people don't want univited lawn guys walking around there lawn giving unsolicited estimates. If it's an easy no brainer then go for it otherwise wait for the call.

Spice it up a bit. Why should the person pick you for the job?

That was my question. Whats in it for the customer? It gives the basic info about you. Who you are, what you do, and how to contact you, but why should they call you instead of someone else?

i see alot of this kinda "no bagging" talk on this forum, and i am just wondering; Your customers really don't mind you just letting the mower rip all over the place, or are you mainly mulching everything? i realize how much easier and faster it is to not have to bag the clippings, but i don;t see too many people being ok with how it looks after shooting the grass all over. Please enlighten me!! i wanna make it easier/faster too lol

The grass clippings are an excellent source of free fertilizer. Why remove them when the lawn benifits from it? The only time you should need to bag is if there's thatch problems, and if that's the case it's a good time to sell extra services offering to correct the problem.

easy, mine is a flat 25% of their mowing rate. If there lawn based on square footage is $35.00/cut then multiply it by 125% and you get $43.75. It works with virtually every lawn, so long as you initial mowing rate is based off of sq. footage. Also, I expain to them that I charge an extra fee to haul off the clippings. I offer to waive the fee if they let me mow the day prior to trash day for them. 90% of them are completely cool with that idea.
