  • Phone calls

I just placed my first ad, so I hope to be getting at least a few calls pretty soon. What do you guys usually say when people ask "how much do you charge?" Without seeing their yard, it seems impossible to give them a price. Do you just quote your per hour charge? I'm thinking about saying something like, "it will be a minumum of $25 to come out and do work and I'll have to see your yard to give you a better quote." I know $25 is low, but some yards can take less than 30 minutes. Anyways, I'll shut up and listen to what you guys have to say.

    Thanks

    Tommy

Don't ever tell customers your price per hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will scare them away.

Tell them you have to come out to look at it and measure property so you can give them a fair price.

People will understand when you tell them you must see yard first. Do not give price over the phone. If people do just tell them each yard is different with different variables.

Good idea, shut up and listen, to what the customers have to say. Like the address and what time they want you there to do the est. It's a job interview. Maybe you don't want to work for them. I looked at a place this week and called them back and turned them down.
