I used to have a machine that folded (you specify how many folds) and stuffed letters into envelopes then "licked" the envelopes.... but it went with the security business... that thing made it so easy.

Staples, OfficeMax, etc will fold them after printing. Cost is about 2 pennies each.

I fold mine by hand an then stick them on the doors by placing them between the door and the little insulation strip its quick and they seem to stay there.

                Folding Fliers

Folding fliers for us (my wife and I) is actually fun. We usually sit around the table stapling, folding, inserting, licking and putting our stamp of approval on it! It's a great time to talk about the days events and future plans of our business.
                - One comment about putting the fliers in mailboxes - I am pretty sure it is illegal to put anything in a US mailbox other than US mail. One way of passing out fliers is placing it in a bag with a rock and tossing in the driveway - BUT we do not do that! - we prefer walking and putting it in the door or part way under the mat - with the chances of possibly meeting the owner. We also dress in company garb.
                - Someone had also shared with us to help cut cost is to make a tri print (3 copies of ad per sheet) on card stock - go to office max to make copies (7 cents each with you own card stock - 10cents to use there's) and they will also cut them for you. We leave room at the bottom to staple our business card to it.

                Wishing you success!

After hanging out the window and doing about 400 flyers in a half hour I returned home to find a message from the postal inspector.....called him back and found out it is ILLEGAL to put anything IN,ON, or attached to any mail box without the proper postage... of course he said the post office offers a discounted rate for bulk mailings (I guess he didnt see my wallet lol ) Oh yeah if you get caught again putting them in or on a mailbox the post office will send you a bill @ .37 per flyer and im sure they will over estimate what they find

                      why not rock and bag?

I think that flyers in rocks with bags are treated like litter or people think of them as a nuisance. I like to walk the neighborhoods. I meet people and talk to them and make an impression. I am good with people and am a non bull kind of guy and I always say if you cant use my services maybe you know someone who can. this is the best kind of networking. it is grass roots and there have been many businesses formed like this. hec many public officials have been voted into office through this type of effort, it is personal and it works. I am way over the 2%that flyers are said to generate. it is not always about imediate numbers sometimes it is building relationships and if they are good, people will talk and you want to be on their lips when they do. I wish you a great season Shoal

If you have a Office Depot Near you they will fold them for 1 cent per fold.

They folded 1200 for me to folds $24. It took 2 minutes.
