Ok, This was one of My Best Ways to Pick up New Customer Accounts!

Offer your Regulars 1 Free Cut for Every Referral or a Coupon for So Much Money off their Services. How?

I wouldn't do it the Moment they Signed a Contract. Lot of Folks will Burn You on that?

Contracts only Purpose is to be Obeyed, Changed & Broken. No More & No Less?

I would tell the Customer that Gave you the New Referral that after you've done say 4 or 5 cuts for that New Customer that they Reccomended, that you would Give them a Free Cut or Maybe Offer them a $25 or so Coupon Off of an Add On Service or so Much Off on their Monthly Bill? A Discount Off an Add On Service is the Best way, because that's where you Make the Bucks! That way it can be Figured into your Overhead!

Put it in your Monthly Billing, Have a Contest. The Customer with the Most Referrals for the Season Wins Something also (Free Meal at Nice resturant or Something). It will Drive those Blue Hairs into a Referral Recommending Frenzy? LOL

When I was in this bizz ... and selling commercial grounds maint accounts ... I'd tell the contact person that I would visit the site and draw up a set of (basic needs) specs on my own, not trouble them with meeting me at the site, digging out specs, spending time ... I told them let me take a shot at it maybe I could save them some money on the contract. Worked well when they don't get involved or you ask them for their time ...

I have tried using the " new move in mailing lists"........ problem is they also include condo owners. So I was not exactly happy with that approach.

Hi everyone. I have a good friend in the biz that uses realtors to get new accounts. He has a working relationship with several real estate agents he knows. he gives them a stack of biz cards, they hand them out ot new and potential buyers. He offers new homebuyers a 10% discount on the first lawn service or landscaping job and gives the realtor a $5.00 kick-back. It has worked very well for him and has picked up numerous repeat customers as well as referrels. I am going totry it with my new biz seems like it works pretty good for him!

Working with realtors gives you a nice head start with move ins and move outs, and new construction in the area. You might even want to consider offering the realty office free grounds maintenance (depending) in exchange for the leads they can give you.
