  • Residential Contracts (HELP)

I quoted a resident a price for doing her lawn, but she wants a contract. What do I do? How long normally is a residential contract? What does a residential contract normally looks like? Also, she wants her lawn done twice a month. Do you have to renew a contract every spring or how does it work?

I would always do 12 month contract so you know you have that coming in Febuary and March when it slows down, that is if they sign in the spring, instead of 10 month contract. But in your case if you go with a 10 month contract, then in April do a year contract you might could make a little more money. Just my opninion.

I am new to this so my advice may warrant some discretion. I am currently working on some contracts myself. I am offering 10 or 12 month contracts. Simply, I am calculating how many times I will mow the yard per month given the seasons that I work through. More in spring and fall here with possible declines in summer depending on moisture production and heat. In other words gauge how many times you will mow that yard per month each month and figure your total that way. Possibly offer price reduction for payment up front or large deposit up front. just my suggestion.
