  • Brand New Lawn Service

Hi there folks my name is Jason in San Juan Puerto Rico. Plenty of sun and a 365 day growing season Whoo Hoo!!! Well I been toying with the Lawn Service idea for a while and well I dove in on the equipment. Here is what I got: John Deer XT170B Trimmer (32cc),An Echo 210 Blow-n-Vac leaf blower, Husqvarvna 850RSW Self Propelled 6.5hp Commercial Lawn Mower. Plus the associated Hand Rake, Broom Shovel, Garden Hose, Rolling Trash Can and Bags. Give me your opinions on this equipment and what it is capable of.

Right now I am a one man Weekend Warrior...I have no experience with Lawn Service other than my back yard. What hints clues suggested online reading price guides do's and don'ts can you guys help me with. After the initial investment I am tight on cash so I can't buy expensive books. Please help me get started the right way and thank you in advance.

Whats up and welcome to the forum!

#1, What difference does it make what I think your equipment is capable of now? Its too late, you already bought it, right! Lesson #1, ask for advice before hand, not after you can't change something.

#2, Read the forum. Go back and read over the old posts. Also, if you go to the Lawnservicing homepage ( I haven't been there in 3 years, so correct me if I'm wrong ) you'll find some basic guidelines to getting started in the industry.

Learn as much as you can from here and trade magazines, and then the rest will come from experience.

      Good Luck Amigo!

        Jason,

I was stationed just outside of San Juan not too long ago. As a matter of fact, I'm going back there on extended TDY here in about 3 weeks. Zag me an e-mail, maybe we can hook up. Wasn't in the biz there, but I do remember the frickin sensitivity grass and mole crickets.

I'll be in the municipality of Toa Baja, Base Naval Sabana Seca. By the way, Jason wasn't a Puerto Rican name as far as I remember. Are you a local?
