• Having someone run my business for me ???

Does anyone own a landscape company and work full-time doing something else? Would it be worth it to hire someone who is responsible to manager and operate my business while I still work my full-time job?

The only thing I would have to do is the billing, sales and the advertising.

    Any ideas!!!!!!

    Thanks John.....

This will work for maintenance mostly where the tasks are straight forward, not complicated, needing little decision making on a day to day basis. Seems like you can get the guys out the door early am then go to regular job, monitor their progress from your cell phone.

Controls needed ... two kinds at LEAST: Quality control of jobs (digital camera) shots taken after work done (fast photos) evidence the work and frequent calls to customers (from you) ... labor hours control ... what did it cost ... what did you bill out EACH DAY!

Customer control ... your (employees) may get "closer" and bond with the customer more than you will from a distance. You'll need heavy duty (non-compete) papers from EVERY worker ... and need to stay in touch with all customers. Hire non-english speaking to help prevent too much communication. Seems like commercial accounts way to go if choice over residentials.

It can work if you plan it out carefully. There are thousands of branch operations operating remotely and away from "headquarters" and you shouldn't fear it ... but CONTROL it ... think in advance all the weak spots.
