Good Deal or Not?

I got a quote today on 2500 door hangers. They are 4.5" x 11.0", full color front and back, uv glossy finish, what ever I want on them. They are asking $435. Ive seen there work, it always looks good. Price also includes designing it for me. I sounds like a good deal to me, but I was wondering what you guys thought.

If that counts designing, it's not bad.

But skip the door hangers. Ask them for large postcards. They are cheaper, and you will find that doorhangers don't work as well as you would think.

Some of my guys passed out doorhangers last year. They noticed that a good percent would fall off the door with any slight breeze with in minutes. Wind does seem to swirl around those front doors anyway.

After a while, they just started sliding them under mats and such. I could have got twice as many large postcards for the price of the door hangers, and put more info on them.

Just my opinion, but I will not buy door hangers again.

I was contact 96eddie.com first. I got a quote from him this week for

5000 4x6 (3.75"x5.75" Finished Size) $200.00, $30.00 Shipping, $30.00 Design per side.
10,000 4x6 (3.75"x5.75" Finished Size) $390.00, $50.00 Shipping, $30.00 Design per side.

I buy 5k biz cards both sides full color for $96+shipping. free design. He is out of florida but his work is awesom and turnaround is fast.

At those prices you can afford to pay to have them passed out. Just be sure to stay off/out of mailboxes. We were called by local post office manager and warned last year. It is not illegal to place it on the post of the box, but all a homeowner has to do is say you put it on the flag or in the box and you are in trouble.

Ive debated doing the postcard thing with the whole direct mailing. The only thing that turn me away from it is that it seems that most of them will hit the trash before they are even looked at. With hangers, at least they have to take them off the door before they can throw them away. ( if they stay that is). What do you think? Do you get more responce from postcards?

Have you considered doing a marketing test? Maybe divide your area into two groups and mail two one group and then distribute door hangers to the other? Then track which method gives you the best response?
