This past year I started up a lawn service business. And while it is small right now, only a few customers, my intention and hope is to grow it into a full time operation. I have all of the basic equipment needed for the level I am at, however if the business will grow I will gladly buy more equipment.
My plan for marketing early next spring will consist of yellow pages and newspaper advertisements. I am hoping that will generate some residential accounts. But my immediate goal is to break into the commercial industry. Several weeks ago I sent out direct mail letters to many business owners, but so far I have had little to no response from them.
I had heard that for commercial accounts you need to market for them during the late summer to fall months. Is this true? With the lacking response I have had, either I didn't hit the right ones or my approach is off.
Any advice would be appreciated.
