  • Are these prices too low for a newbie?

Let me remind you these are canadian dollars, I pay my helper $7.50/hr.

    Lawnmowing - Estimate $1 / Min

    Leaves Clean-up - $30 Hr (2 Workers)
(Removal to a private dump usually 10 miles away where I pay $10)-$20

Labour on Landscaping or general maintenance - $30 Hr (2 Workers)

Debris Removal - $20 + Estimated Labour to load truck + Any
appropriate dump fee (Its only a `91 Ranger so it only holds
    1000lbs)

Snow Removal - $35 (I use a snow blower, takes 1 man alone one hour
to do so I don't pay labour)

When landscaping I mark all materials up 50% for handling and charge an hour's labour to pick up materials for a job.

I know some of these prices are less than what some of you charge in American dollars but as I get more known, and fix a bad scheduling problem I have, I can build a name for myself and raise prices. But right now for a new business are these too low? - Thanks
    Thanks

    mowing rate is fine...
    dump fees are fine...
I would add $5-$10 onto your leaves & landscaping rates...

Not bad if your just starting! Good Luck!

General Mowing seems to be fine, Snow removal seems fine per trip.

Leaves and General Maintenance seem fine if thats a per man/hr rate (ie 2/guys=60/hr,,,3/guys=90/hr etc).

Landscaping is generally 75% or triple the material costs installed depending on difficuly factors involved.

"When landscaping I mark all materials up 50% for handling and charge an hour's labour to pick up materials for a job."

This part could get you into trouble because some plants are high value, others low. Suggest using a lower markup plus all hourly costs to pickup and plant.

How do I raise prices when I have some common clients who are used to my rates? And those who are refering my rates to other customers?
          Thanks

If your mowing rate is $1/min why wouldn't your other work also be $1/min?
