  • Stamping signiture or hand sign

Hello: I am doing 10,000 flyers in febuary and march. I am having another proffessional company print door hangers. I was going to add some personal touch by signing each estimate given.

Would it be better to hand stamp or hand sign the flyers. I know it will be alot of extra work to sign each flyer but would it matter to them? I was also going to write the cost of their lawn service. Should i also hand write this in or hand stamp it?

    Kingstownquad,
That is a lot of stamping or writing either way you go. If it is not to late why don't you scan your signature and send it to your printing company to put it on the flyer. I really don't like the idea of the stamp. To me it looks like you forgot to do it.Also signing them will take a lot of time, I mean a lot of time. Do you want to spend that much time signing 10,000 of those. I bet over 50% get tossed before they ever see the signature. Don't waste your time. Do it the easy way send it to the printing company. It will look just like you signed it.

Just sign the estimate by hand. You're not talking about giving an estimate with each of the 10k flyers are you?

If you want a signature on each flyer, don't worry about stamping it, just sign the original and get the 10k made off that one.

I think you would give up signing 10k flyers individually. And stamping would be no better than just copying from the original. 10k flyers is a lot for one person to pass out.

P.S. - Skip the door hangers, just get oversized post cards. They are bigger, cheaper, and easier to hand out. Door hangers don't stay on the doors as good as you may think. I hate them.

I would like to put the price on the postcards or doorhangers. This seems easy with doorhangers since i can look at the community and estimate the price. On postcards however I would have to go out and give many many individual estimates or maybe you know a better way? I am just trying to learn. Also I was going to hand write the price in since the houses i have scouted are priced at 30,35,and 40 is there a better way? I mow in Western Maryland when would you put out flyers. I would like to do hit the houses twice each?
        thanks

I believe you are missing some of the basic concepts of Marketing. I understand you are trying to add a person touch with both the real signature and the price. But both are very bad Ideas. Your copy on the flyer should create an interest or appeal but only to get them to call. Prices Starting at $ X.XX might be OK. But to put your individual home prices on a card only tells the customer you are not any cheaper than the next guy who has just learned your prices from that same Flyer. You never get the chance to talk to the customer and sell him your quality.

You can not individualize 10,000 flyers and should look for a more universal approach. Flyers are a numbers game. You must tell the customer what they want to hear and might be looking for. Expect about a 1% reply rate on the first Distribution, if you are lucky with a good flyer. People love bargains, so look for a Flyer that offers a bargain. Advertising that markets quality at a higher price gets much less response.

            Hi kingstownquad,

If you are going to be handing these out and are able to see the property when you write down a price, then good for you. There are two opinions on including pricing on marketing material. One side feels you need to talk with the client to make the sale and you should only tell them a price in person. The other side says it is a numbers game and the more postcards and prices you can get out, the better your chances are of landing some accounts.
