This guy calls me yesterday and he has 1/3 of an acre which a little over a 1/4 the grass is super long he is one of those lazy deadbeats who doesnt want to cut it but he doesnt want regular service either anyway i charged him 35.00 to cut blow edge and eat and i also cut his hedges hoping maybe he would call me back he had 4 big hedges and about 5 other littler ones but i did the whole thing for 35.00 it took me 2 hours but if it regularlly taken care of its one of those yards that might take you 1/2 hour to do a good job. so did i under bid and what is usually a good price for one timers is there a chart or something???

You did a lot of work for not much money. But I did the same exact thing if I had the Time. You probably need to average at least $25 an hour or more per person.
This is how you build up a Quick Customer base & it doesn't matter if he uses you again or not. Remember you were there & others saw you and your Work. Hopefully you had Signs on Your Truck.
If I was in a nice area & wanted work there, If I had the oppertunity to do a Good Corner lot at a 4 way stop, I gave very good prices just to get my foot in the door in that paticular neighborhood!
I would also let them know that I normally wanted more, but I wanted work in that area & I would ask the customer to help me Keep that Price down by giving me referalls & not Mention my Fees. Or I would tell them what I normally charge & for them to Quote that fee if asked!
