At what time of the year should one seek jobs to bid on? When do businesses accept contract proposals? I am assuming that the time is relatively soon but being new to this, I am not certain. I've been reading posts for quite a while and am thankful for all the information that has been provided.

Business contracts can go out the last part of October. Depends on the business really. We have signed most of our larger contracts before years end. Those are gone if you haven't actually sent them something.

Having said that, we have signed on the dotted line about 3 weeks before the season started on a large contract. But that's a bit unusual, and can be a bit nerving for you if you don't have a game plan in place for which ever way the contract falls..

But I would say 70% are at least in heavy process of comparing their recieved bids by mid December. Most like to have a handle on next years budget.

Scaper or any of the gang,
Can you send me a copy of an example commercial proposal. Say for mow,edge,weed-eat,blow and maybe some landscape maintenance or something like that so I can get a good idea what you experienced guys are presenting. I would greatly appreciate it.
