I am wondering what type of insurance everyone uses for their lawn care company. I myself am the owner/operator and have no emplyees, but i want something to cover myself/equipment...what type is best and why? Any idea what is a good prices for insurance a month? Thanks

you can use the search and get alot of info. i use erie and have a $1,000,000 policy and have my equipment covered also for $700 a/yr. you need to get commercial ins. also for your truck and trl. your current ins. co. could advise you on both. i carry a $1,000,000 on one truck and two trls. as well through nationwide. hope this helps.Originally posted by dpatt07

So do i need two types of insurance? One for the equipment and one for truck/trailer? Of is there a package for everything all in one? I do this by myself so i only have one truck, one trailer, 2 walkbehind, and then all the other little power equipment. Thanks for your help!Comment

you will need business ins. and commercial ins. to drive. as far as your equipment that is up to you but would come under the business ins. it doesn't cost much to insure your equipment. to start just check with your current ins. and then shop around.Originally posted by dpatt07

business covers things like broken windows, hitting a gas line and burning the house up, putting some kids eye out with a rock from your mower. things like that. commercial covers your vehicles while driving. you get in a wreck and hurt somebody you better have it or you are in deep ****. also this is my state of va. yours could be different but i doubt it.Originally posted by dpatt07
