Good service is important....
I recently switched providers and could not be happier.
First of all I got a deal on the phone that is unbelievable. The manager gave me the package price which anyone would be a fool to pass on. The deal was so good I had him put it in writing. When I returned the following day to make the purchse, the sales rep didn't believe the price. I had to ask her to call the manager for verification. SHE COULDN"T BELIEVE THE DEAL I GOT. I must have caught him on a good day.
Now I have better service in more places, more plan options, more accessories, and pay less!
Good service=loyal customer.
I forgot to mention I had the same provider for the past 2.5 years and became so fed up with the service and merger bull.... that I had to switch.

Get Mobile Boost your Income
Couldn't agree more no phone no work. There is many times people have rung when I'm in their area wanting a job done ASAP if I didn't answer then they ring some one else. I also have call transfer so that when people ring my home number it transferes to the mobile, costs about $20 a month but one extra job will more than cover it. Generally I find that most people are reluctant to ring a moble as it will cost them 70 cents so will ring my home number during the day at no cost but knowing I am more than likely to be out! No logic in some people. Save themselves 70 cents but are happy to pay $50 per mow!
Lots of people ring around contractors but only ring home numbers, no answer or answer phone they just try the next in the book.
Some times its a real pain stopping to answer the phone in the middle of a job but I think of it as potential money.
Those new ear protectors with built in bluetooth are great no stopping to answer the phone but can't justify the cost at present.

Dad?????...........is that you?Originally posted by kingstownquadI'm trying to decide if a cell phone is worth the costs. I do not like cell phones but realize i loose business because i do not have one. Also my number is long distance so some customers may not call. Any suggestions?

When I was growing up as a young person in the Tampa / St. Pete, Florida area in the 1950-60's seems like I can remember at least one pay phone on every corner and 98% of them worked and best of all they only cost a dime at the time. But then again I'm almost 60 years young..I remember nickel cokes too! They don't exist anymore either.
Now, today at almost 60 years of age even I couldn't imagine being without a cell phone...PERIOD!
In today's world it has become a must as there hardly are any pay phones and those that one occasionally does come across look as if they were rode hard and put up wet with no hand sets / cord cut / etc. So if you're not at a location where you have phone access like home or office and someone wants to get in touch or you need to get hold of them how would you accomplish this without a cell phone?
For any type of business I would think that a cell phone is perhaps your most needed tool and it's my understanding that many businesses are just using cell phones and have totally given up all land lines.
Also how many of you also include their email address and / or their web address (URL) on their business cards and advertisments.
It has become a 24 / 7 world and since millions shop on Ebay as well as other online sites either at work or till the wee hours of the morning I would think that why shouldn't they also shop for lawn maintence / services at odd hours of the day as well?

Ted make sure you get a very good device to attach the phone to you. I lost a very good phone last year when the belt clip broke and I ran it over with my ztr. It was a mess. Plastic flying everwhere. I now have a metal clip with a velcro pouch so it will not happen again. Good Luck don't loose it.
