how do most of you set up your accounts to be paid like resident do you bill them mounthly or every time you mow and your commercal accounts

I bill all my commercial once a month on the first. Some residentials I do the same and some I do every two weeks depending on how the customer wants to pay. Some residential pay same day as completion as service. I also have some customers prepay, which is a big plus. The only thing with billing once a month, try to split it up so you have money comming in at all times during the month, instead of just the first week. This keeps a constant cash flow“veni, vidi, vici.â€

I bill in a similar manner as CCLS. I also have two accounts, one commercial and one residential, that requested that I bill them via email.Wayne

Commercials are usually billed once per month on the first. Residentials I usually leave up to them (they choose whether to pay cash every week or once per month). Sometimes on commercials you will get stuck with 90-day or even one year payments. I would tend to not accept the 365-day payment unless you have trouble saving the cash

If you're billing monthly, try to bill for the upcoming month on the first (prepay). That way if someone decides to discontinue your service, you don't have a full month of work to try to collect payment for. Twelve month contracts are the way to go, but obviously not all customers are up for that.

I bill 90% of my customers (comercial and Residential) monthly. i have found that i have a pretty constant cash flow because money trickles in all month i usually have about 90% of everyone paid by the 20th of the month. i also have about 10% that pay as i cut.we never truly grow as a person or acomplish anything until we step out of our comfort zone.

My name is Kimberly Savage. I'm fairly new to this forum but I was reading your posts and was hoping to shed some light on the topic of credit cards and monthly billing for you. I agree with landdawg regarding prepay customers. By having your customers prepay it will reduce the number of customers that actually owe you money for services you've already performed thus eliminating a large percentage of past due accounts, great idea.
As far as credit cards, they seem to average about 3-3.5% and more often than not there is also a monthly charge. As the business owner, you will need to decide whether the costs outweigh the benefits on this one. It really depends on how many transactions you will be making on a monthly basis compared with how much you will spend on credit card fees. Also you need to consider, if you set a customer up on credit card billing, will you still need to send them a monthly invoice? If so, that's another $4.17 per invoice (S.B.A. quote) added to the 3-3.5% plus your monthly fee, you're talking about paying out about $7-10.00 for every credit card transaction. There is alot to consider. Please don't quote me on my $7-10 figure, it's a rough estimate. Hope I've been able to answer some of your questions.
