I know there has been many posts about software for estimates and billing on this site. I started in the beginning of April this year and I have reaaly been trying to get things in order. I really didn't want to have to spend $350 on software yet. I really am looking for something really inexpensive to do some basic estimates and Billing for me.

Any of you guys have any input on cheaper software packages other than the one for $350. I know it seems like a really good software, but I really can't afford it at this time.

qualitylandscaping has a nice system of bidding on his site. The link can be found in his sig. When you are ready to purchase a program for mowing, I will be creating mowing business software over the winter and have it ready to disribute by early spring. Keep me in mind!

Make sure the edition of Quick Books does estimating and invoices, I think one of them does not. If you have employees, Quick Books Pro is really one of the best programs out there for small business....even bigger business for that matter. It will save you so much time with payroll and taxes if done properly. Very easy to learn as well. Highly recommend it. You may be able to find Quick Books Pro 2002 at a lower rate because 2003 just came out. Definately worth the money.

I use quickbooks and it has really worked great for me. Its easy to use and is well worth the $200.00. Check ebay to see if you can get a used version cheaper. Its a great investment and will save you many headaches.

I agree with Quickbooks being the preference! Great alround program. Obviously not tailored to our industry but you can't have everything right! Lawn Guy is fantastic tracking appointments (Which by the way I had a look at the updated version and it looks fantastic - great improvement - Well done Mr. Mitchell ) ) A lot of you seem to be getting into the programming side for this industry, who better to do the job then one of you!!! Good luck to all, and one day there may be the dream package that is the answer to everyone's dreams. I have faith!!! )
