my friend and i have had a lawncare business for 5 years now. This year we are wanting to expand out of our small town (pop. 1200) and into more profitable regions. the only problem is that we need to become legit/legal. I havent found much about licensing in kentucky. one website said that since we are a a domestic general partnership then we wouldnt need a license or file annual reports or even pay to register our name. is this actually true? what all do we need to do to become legal. where would i go to get a license or to find out information about this stuff in kentucky?

I don't know anything about your state. Check for information the old way the phone book HAHA. Look under business license, call that county office and they will tell you everything you need to do.
In CA even as a sole prop you have to registered with the county and file a Ficticious Business name statement and we have to get a business license for each town we do work in within our county.
