How's your advertising doing?

I started the last of feburary with doorhangers and have been putting them out. I hit 2000 homes twice. I have put out 4000 doorhangers walking door to door with little return but it's still early and I am holding on. May do another batch if I need to?

My advertising has done quite well. I haven't had but a few calls from my yellow page ads. I sent out 750 postcards 3-4 weeks ago and signed 1 yearly mowing and have 2 landscaping gigs from them. I mailed out another 1000 today. I am receiving a lot of calls as a result of a newspaper ad I have ongoing, but most of those are price shoppers. I just got back in from running around giving out bids and such. Signed on another mowing customer, a small 1/2 hour trimming/clean-up job, and probably another landscaping job (tearing out a hickish retaining wall, trucking in soil, and leveling). Things are looking good over here.... Of coarse I still say referrals are my most effective form of advertising.

We put out 9k doorhangers 2 weeks ago and have signed 25 and turned down about 8.

Doorhangers are the way to go, that is all we have ever done (except a small 1" yellow page ad). It is amazing how long people hang on to those things. We will get a call from someone in an area we have not hit with fliers in months and they will say 'we got your flyer'.

It takes alot of work, but it is worth it.

Great work! It does pay to keep getting your name out there. This is a prime example of why.
