getting contacts

what are some ways to advertise and get contacts. i currently have 3 accounts, and im looking to get alot more. i made some flyers and went around to peoples door's but that takes too long and almost nobody wants you to cut there grass. im thinking the best way would be to place a small advertisement in my local newspaper, what do you think? also what are some tips on getting comercial buisness? thanks alot.

A well done flyer works much better than a news paper ad..... no one say this would be easy. You are starting a bussiness.

I perfer selective marketing. I have never ran an ad in the paper or yellow pages. In a few years maybe but for now I don't want alot of people calling me where I don't want to work. I send post cards only to the neighbor hoods where I want to work. You should advertise on you trucks and trailors, if not you are losing a lot of money. They will pay for themselves. Those are the only two ways I advertise. Well word of mouth works great too.

You just have to get out their and stuff the paper boxes or walk door to door and stick them in the door. I end up using the paper boxes. I can do this late at night if I need too. Then if your area gets a morning paper it will be in their hands first thing in the morning and with thier paper. Good luck

No paper boxes in my area.

I just got home for a lunch break from walking across the heat to slip flyers on, under, over, around doors. Just print up a good flyer and start walking. If it don't get a response think about changing the flyer.

People that want your service are out there. They just don't know you exist yet.
