Hi John,
I have been using a simple flat rate mow cost system, and it has gone well. I charge 25 for a residential yard of aprox. 5k sq. ft. That includes trimming around house and property fences, and clipping blow off.
For a larger yard, I would charge 30, especially on corner lots. Got it.
Your area may be different. The new system I am working to perfect this year is measuing the lawn, determining how much I can mow in a standard amount of time, and costing the lawn for how long I will spend on it.
I found that I make 50 hr, aprox. mowing with hte first system. But after support time I would average less. After I new how much I spend per hour to be in business, I came up with charging 40 an hr. to reach my goals.
Get comfortable with a system that averages well for you. Mine was the flat rate. After that you can spend time on learning your mowing efficientcy. Charge fair, not what the market will bear.Im goanna get rich, how about you?
