  • Please share your pricing systems, I'm researching

I purchased a wheel measure, I need to develop a better pricing system for bidding larger lots. I understand that my mower will mow a certain amount of acherage per hour. I would like to see differences in linear trimming, edging, and hedge trimming (if you bid by demensions for shearing)prices. As well as sq. ft. pricing systems with multipliers.

I feel greedy asking... maybe this will be good for several other members who are also purchasing measure wheels.

I own a newer 48" WB, and a newer 32" WB, and I service primarily residential lots. And I severely mis bid my first two commercial props, yikes.

    Thanks a bunch

I read the old posts about pricing, searched "pricing", and realize that my residential prices are fine. Now I need to go measure my lots and time myself mowing, and trimming them. NP

Boy, I am impressed with this site, and feel honored to read the thoughts of upstanding profesionals...

Hey Popper I think you answered you're own question, lol!
You probably lost those previous bids to lowballers, don't sweat it, there'll be more.
Yeah do exactly like what you said, measure your current lawns and then time yourself. With a little math you should be able to get some rough #'s for 5k-10k lots in size.
After some time you'll won't be measuring lawns, you'll look and say I can that in under 30mins. The only thing I use my wheel for now are for landscaping jobs, figuring mulch or rock, and sometimes irrgation, longest run of pipe.
Goodluck on your #'s and let's us know what you come up with.

I have gotten used to what a price for lawn is just by looking, but still need to measure with the wheel to figure fertilization charges as well as the things mentioned by scott. So I'm out measuring the properties for every estimate whether I need to or not.

Yea sunrise, that's what I'm thinking now.

I like the idea of estimating fert apps, seeding, aeration, power raking and anything else that could be hired to me. Giving the prices to someone may make them comfortable with your service, stimulating more referals and jobs sold!
