How do I people to call me?

I've wanted to start a lawn mowing business for several years. I have the equipment, and I enjoy mowing lawns. I have been hanging a sign out in front of my house, but I live in the country, so there is a limited amount of people that see it. I am surrounded by small towns which only have gas stations and post offices. I hung some flyers out at gas stations, but the post office won't allow me to hang any flyers. So far I haven't recieved any calls. Does any one have any suggestions?

I use the local shopper and it worked great and cheap. I got 12 steady customers in the first year and that was from end of May through the season and a lot of small jobs cleaning gutters and such.. I had signs made and put them on the trailer, what a waste! Never did get a call from them and this is the second year. Hope this helps some.
