I think you need some more due diligence. Check to se if there are any <b></b>existing<b></b>lawn services for sale. If not, and you do go the partnership route (an absolute nightmare, in my opinion) considering making your crew chief part of the partnership. He'll participate in the profits, give a damn about the customer's, and babysit the drones.
I purchased a small lawn service business, lock stock and barrel, last year. Still, my start-up costs were staggering and except for cash paying customers, I've yet to take a penny.
Make a business plan, set aside a ton of cash and GO FOR IT!.
