  • prices for shrub installation

I am getting into some small landscaping jobs and was wondering how much to charge for installing shrubs and how many feet or square feet a bale of pine straw covers.

Im not sure about the pine straw cause i dont use it but all my plant material goes in at 2-3 xs what i payed for it. this includes a 1 year warranty. Some plants that are very hearty i use x2 cause they more than likely will make it. trees i go 2.5 xs my cost and i charge 1 bag mulch and 15 for staking. 8 or more trees installed i try to sell tree fert @ 130 and im usually sucessful at selling 3 apps per year. I use spikes. Great profit. Other people i know of use the same pricing i do but come down a little on the perinials. some i know charge labor on top of that. I myself have tried the labor but a few times i had to drop it to close the sell.

I triple the wholesale price of all my plants for the total installed price. Many people say this is a poor method of pricing, but I have figured labor and transportation times separately and tripling it always works for me. I give a one year warranty on my plants if the customer is a regular maintenance client of mine and has irrigation. I charge separately for soil amendments like humus and peat. This pricing is right in line with my competion. I charge $5 less for perennials but $5 more for shrubs. Good luck.
