anybody ever advertise in these? i will be starting an add in january that will run for six months. the costs are $50 for 1/8 of a page, $90 for 1/4, and $160for 1/2 page. this is my closest neighborhood and has about 600 homes now in the 3 to 600k range. right now i have 10 homes in this one and get lot's of other work from about 20 others. seems like a very good price to me.

Wow....not to shabby. At those prices I'd go at least with a 1/4 or 1/2 page ad. The ad is certain to pay for itself many times over.

      If possible...

If it's a 1/4 page get them to promise you it will be in the top left corner. If 1/2 page get the upper half.

        delasgh,

If you can, contact several of your customers that live in the neighborhood and get a testimonial from them to include in the ad. If they'll let you, include their name and address so people that see the ad can go check out your work for themselves. Try to have them list specific things about the service they really like and appreciate too.

One thing you might want to try as well is to create a different offer for each month the ad runs. That way, you're presenting something very specific and can attach a deadline to it to create some urgency.

You're getting a great deal and it could pay off for you big time if you design the ad in such a way that it's not just a giant business card. In other words, present specific offers each month, give it a deadline, use testimonials, and make it easy for them to test you out without signing their life away.

Sounds like a good deal. I was ask if I wanted to take out an ad in the local County Basketball Tournament Program book 50$ for a 1/4 page. I jumped on it seeing that the Tournament is held at our college(JSU) and all the teams from the whole county will be there, covers the whole county for 50$ plus it is a tax deductible donation to the school.

I did something of the same sort many years back. "Donated" $40 to the local christain school to have a business card sized ad in their basketball programs for the year. As far as I know I didn't pick up any business from it.

Yeah...school advertisements are just for the children. I don't know if I have picked up any business from my school's sports programs.

                HOA--good idea I think.
