Making my company an LLC?

Hello lawn people! I just have a couple of questions about Limited Liability Company's(LLC)

1.Are any of you guy's company's LLC? If so is this a good move?

2.Do you know of any honest website's for me to apply?

3.Should I use my home address for my business,or a p.o box?

This season would be my second season cutting,but my first REAL year as a legit company, I have30+ residential accounts and aiming for 2 commercial and 20+ more residential. Any more tips you guy's have for me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I suggest you contact a CPA for advice on that one. Go to this web site and then look for the links for your state. Also look for the links to your local SCORE volunteers. They will give you alot of good free advice.

An LLC is a very good investment. It takes all liability away from the owner and places it on the company so if anything were to happen you cant get your house or personal vechicles taken away. Here in Ohio you have to apply throught the secretary of states website and there is a one time $125 fee, but its a small price to pay for a lot of security.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go through some company that sets you all up!!! IT IS A RIPOFF PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visit your Secretary of State's website. ALL LLC, CORPORATE, ETC. LICENSING AND REGISTRATION IS DONE THROUGH YOUR STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can read at a 6th grade level, you should be able to do it all yourself. A phone call to the Secretary of State's office for YOUR state should be able to answer any questions you have.
