  • Finding Employees

I am new to the lawn business. Just recently purchased a lawn service which had 2 workers. They flaked out on us about a month after buying the business. Not sure why, we even gave them a raise. We then found another guy who just stopped showing up.

We are in S. Florida which I figured it would be easy to find people. I know we have a communication barrier which makes it difficult.

Any thought on where to go to find dependable workers?

Welcome to the world of owning an LCO. This will be your single biggest problem, forever. Every Monday is a crap shoot and some will even walk off a job to take a different/better offer. My advice is to always have at least one more employee than you really need.
