So I was talking with a friend who own's a local landscape business the other day.. some how or the other we stumbled upon talking about creative advertisng methods.. one's that are going to make you customer think twice about your business for whatever reason.. because your name came across their eyes in a very "unusual" way...

    My favorite was this idea..

Go into a subdivision at 3am.. timing has to be quite percise here.. everyone MUST be asleep and driving has to be at a minimal.. proceed to drive through the neighborhood with "Employee A" in the back of the truck filling baloons with helium, tying, and attaching strings. "Employee B" will take the baloon and tie it to "Confused Customer A"'s mailbox.

Balloons will have your company logo on them so in the morning as everyone is making their commute they notice the entire neighborhood is plastered with these baloons... Imagine that site.. how funny would that be?? i gurantee you that no home will go without your name being mentioned... we can debate what will be said about your name but nonethless.. things will get said..

I thought that was funny.. maybe not the best idea, but funny..

    Let's here some from you..

lol...what idiot where you talking to who brainstormed that idea?

      ...oh nevermind.

Hey, how about "chalking" driveways??? (you know, like on the KSU campus?) Ok, probably not the greatest idea since technically you'd be defacing private and/or public property.

Go out and buy a big pack of that old fashioned gum. The name escapes me right now. That hard pink gum where the wrapper is twisted on both sides, with the little comic strip on the side???? Ahhhh, Oh well.

Anyway, I saw this last year.

I opened an envelope that had a piece of that gum inside! There was a simple flyer with a background photo of a woman blowing a big bubble.

In bold at the top it said "Chew on This!"

And then under that was the sales pitch.

I thought that was interesting. And I still recall the company after a year, just by seeing that!

i once dreamed up this absurd idea for an employee which needed some dicipline...

on easter, or the week before, have "Bad Employee A" dress up as the easterbunny and actually hop around different neighborhoods with a company shirt on..

while hopping around, he would go from house to house delivering an easter egg to each home. Inside would be some candy and a business card including a special offer from said lawn maintenance company.
