  • Copier question

Yo, is there a cheap copier I could buy that will make copies of ledger size paper? (11"x17")

I'm thinking not, but I really wouldn't know. I'm not too concerned about quality.

You talking about an all in one type deal??? If you are doing B&W then I'd recommend the Canon or Brother laser all in one(avaliable at Office Depot). Avoid the inkjet as you'll be changing cartridges constantly. I wouldn't recommend color (laser or inkjet) unless you really have to have it... Used to use a color laser when I worked retail, and the toner prices were outrageous and run out quickly.

Ledger size is actually 8.5"*14" in which case there are all kinds of copiers for less than $500 that will do a great job reproducing images. I have a Canon MF5750 that cost around $600 3 years back, it will scan and print the 8.5*14 document then print out the reproduction and it is vey difficult to determine which is which!

11*17 is the equivalent of two 8.5*11 sheets placed (long edge) side by side. I would be very surprised if you need to make copies of something that size.

      But one never knows so....

I guess, like most things, "cheap" is relative. I googled '11*17 copiers' and got a few hits back. Here are a few of the links:

11x17 is considered "B" size paper to get into that size you might want to look into drafting supply companies. But anything that is used for drafting is expensive. As far as which copier to buy I would be more concerned with how much ink/toner costs for the machine, that seems to be where those companies make thier money

b/c sometimes I think outside the box. Actually this would be for landscape designing reasons. Besides, I really think it's time for a copier. Damn, I'm getting old?
