  • Employee Incentive Program Ideas?

Do any of you larger companies (4 or more employees) use an incentive pay program? I'm trying to devise something that rewards my team leaders and team members for getting their routes done on time or early.

In retail management, we were held accountable for payroll hours in relations to sales totals. I would love to give bonuses based on a Crew staying within their budgeted hours for a route, but don't know a simple way to track it and keep up with it every week without it becoming too much of a hassle.

Maybe you guys have something like this you've implemented in your company or you can give me some ideas?

i have been trying to come up with something for a few years and cant seem to find anything that is not a paperwork nightmare.

Im leaning towards a profit vs man hours for end of month total for the company. Try and create a team setting rather then pitting crews against each other

What about budgeted payroll hours per crew per week, and if theyre under, the leader gets a bonus. If not, no bonus. Consistently over payroll hours? We need to reanalyze bids, equipment, or crew members.

Just a thought ive been thinking about....

how bout the fact they have a job. the guys in this deal are a dime a dozen. turnover rate is very high. offer them a joint or a bottle of wine at the end of the week if they get done early. if these guys are set up for 8 hours of work you can bet your azz they will make their 8 hours. the $16/hr leader is in the same mind set as the $8/hr deadbeat, MAKE MY 8 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!! these guys aren't building aircraft carriers or in retail management.

          My Incentive program is:

DO YOUR FRACKEN WORK OR THERE IS THE DOOR.

In this economy, that's incentive enough.

I agree, do the work, get a check. Do it quicker on a consistant basis and beer is on me on Friday...But I do that for myself

Exactly! Their jobs are enough to be considered an incentive, more so a blessing if you guys want to be melo-dramatic. But having beer on Fridays definitely sounds good and would be something to look forward to for the guys!
